I took some time on my lunch break again today to dance. I've danced in Webbs Brake before but it's full of twists and turns and no two areas are the same.
I have steered clear of some of the effects on my editing program as I really didn't think they would bring anything, but I was wrong. I was pleasantly surprised by the effect created today and I hope to be able to work with some others in the future as well as making the most of the one used today.
After being back at The Wild Place Project for a few weeks, I finally made some time and use of the beautiful site. I'm excited to see how it changes over the next couple of months. It's already showing some beautiful colours and today is a little tribute to that, nothing more.
So after a very eventful summer with highs and lows we come to the autumn equinox. The days get shorter from here on and with that we see less of the sun.
Filmed at twilight tonight with the hope that this will be a mild and drama free winter. Wishing you all a safe and secure few months until we see more of the light.
A long but enjoyable day today due to my first day back at college.
After filling my brain with syllabus work and putting my pointe shoes on
for the first time since my exam (which I passed, don't think I've
mentioned that yet), I wanted to do something different.
I have to
admit that My Chemical Romance is a bit of a guilty pleasure and i love
this little sketchy track; Romance.
Let me start by apologizing about the lateness of day 106. I got knocked for six by the stomach bug going round but I'm fighting fit again thanks to bed rest and Fullmetal Alchemist! So I'll end up finishing a couple of days later than expected but I'm carrying on :)
All ready and raring to go for my first day back at college tomorrow so here's a little something inspired by one of the ending themes from Fullmetal Alchemist and my relief that my energy has returned in time for tomorrow!
I toyed with the idea of working on either 1970's or revisiting the 60's test I did a few days ago. I decided that to do either of them any justice I needed my heels so that's on hold until i get home this week.
I decided to work on the 1930's section today so I went back and re-watched Day 62, Day 63 and Day 64 for inspiration and also let the music influence the composition.
After my announcement yesterday I thought I'd better get on with it.
Here is a practice of some Charleston moves for the 1920's section.
I decided I would do at least one practice dance for each decade to a different piece of decade specific music.
Unfortunately I didn't do very well with my location choice today as there is quite a bit of footwork in a Charleston and you can't see mine. Will do better next time :)
So here we go, if I make it public it's official. I don't really know why I've been putting this off, possibly because I'm not completely sure I can do the vision in my head justice.
The idea is to take PV Nova's Evolution remix of Daft Punks Get Lucky and dance and dress in a style influenced by the decade in question. (See video below if this doesn't make sense).
So today I have listened to the track quite a few times and marked out the duration of each section together with possible dance style for each decade.
Now I have to teach myself any styles I'm not familiar with and brush up of those I haven't done for a while. And then choreograph each section to run smoothly into the next.
I plan to take each section separately, work on that decade and then put them altogether, so I am hoping it will take about a month working on it every few days.
This is going to be a challenge but I'm up for it. :)
