Choreography 365: Day 118 - Back at Webbs Brake

I took some time on my lunch break again today to dance.  I've danced in Webbs Brake before but it's full of twists and turns and no two areas are the same.

I have steered clear of some of the effects on my editing program as I really didn't think they would bring anything, but I was wrong.  I was pleasantly surprised by the effect created today and I hope to be able to work with some others in the future as well as making the most of the one used today.

Choreography 365: Day 117 - Paranoid Funk

A bit of a mash up today.
Luna and co. came to pay us a visit and she kindly helped me decide what to do and then filmed.
We found this mash up by Daft Punk with Garbage - Paranoid Funk

So here is the video, finally edited, from my from string adventure yesterday.

The music is one of the free tracks from You Tube - Birds

Choreography 365: Day 115 - String Theory

I've started knitting again, so that means blankets, hats, baby clothes etc on the way for xmas prezzies.

Working with wool gave me the idea of dancing with it.

So tonight I strung our games room (which took about an hour), danced within the network of strings and filmed the movement from different angles.

There is a lot of footage so I am leaving the editing for tomorrow.

Choreography 365: Day 113 - Autumn Haze

After being back at The Wild Place Project for a few weeks, I finally made some time and use of the beautiful site.  I'm excited to see how it changes over the next couple of months.  It's already showing some beautiful colours and today is a little tribute to that, nothing more.

Choregraphy 365: Day 112 - Slow Down

I just had a little play with slowing some movements down today.

I then had some fun working on the different speeds and composition.

Choreography 365: Day 111 - Svanire

Svanire translates as: to disappear, vanish or fade; kind of perfect for the way I've been feeling today.

But as a dear friend reminded me today; we just carry on carrying on.

Music = Svanire by Ludovico Einaudi

I couldn't resist weaving in and out of these on the way out tonight so of course on the way back I was going to film here.

Choreography 365: Day 109 - Goodbye to the Sun

So after a very eventful summer with highs and lows we come to the autumn equinox.  The days get shorter from here on and with that we see less of the sun.

Filmed at twilight tonight with the hope that this will be a mild and drama free winter.  Wishing you all a safe and secure few months until we see more of the light.

A little tribute to the lovely Natalie who is also traveling along this 365 journey.

Check out her doors here :)

Choreography 365: Day 107 - Strange Indulgence

A long but enjoyable day today due to my first day back at college.

After filling my brain with syllabus work and putting my pointe shoes on for the first time since my exam (which I passed, don't think I've mentioned that yet), I wanted to do something different.

I have to admit that My Chemical Romance is a bit of a guilty pleasure and i love this little sketchy track; Romance.

Choreography 365: Day 106 - Two Days Late

Let me start by apologizing about the lateness of day 106.  I got knocked for six by the stomach bug going round but I'm fighting fit again thanks to bed rest and Fullmetal Alchemist! So I'll end up finishing a couple of days later than expected but I'm carrying on :)

All ready and raring to go for my first day back at college tomorrow so here's a little something inspired by one of the ending themes from Fullmetal Alchemist and my relief that my energy has returned in time for tomorrow!

Choreography 365: Day 105 - 1930's Test

I spent quite a bit of time today deciding on what decade to work on.
(check out Day 97 for more info)

I toyed with the idea of working on either 1970's or revisiting the 60's test I did a few days ago.  I decided that to do either of them any justice I needed my heels so that's on hold until i get home this week.

I decided to work on the 1930's section today so I went back and re-watched Day 62, Day 63 and Day 64 for inspiration and also let the music influence the composition.

Music =  St. Louis Blues by Django Reinhardt

Choreography 365: Day 104 - Noisy Bridge, Nosey Belle

This morning Hannah and I took Belle and Henry out for a nice long walk and also picked lots of Elderberries, Blackberries and Rose-hips.

I couldn't resit dancing on this noisy bridge and Belle couldn't resist joining in!

Thank you Hannah for filming :)

Choreography 365: Day 102 - A Walk in the Woods

I took myself for a walk today through the woods near Midsomer Norton and let the scenery inspire me.

Choreography 365: Day 101 - 1960's Test

I did some more work on my 'Evolution' project today; working on finding my 1960's dance style.

I'm not convinced I've cracked it but that's what this is all about :)

A dance for me today :)

Choreography 365: Day 99 - Charleston Test 2

A little bit more of a play with Charleston moves today.

Hey look, feet!

Choreography 365: Day 98 - Charleston Test

After my announcement yesterday I thought I'd better get on with it.

Here is a practice of some Charleston moves for the 1920's section.

I decided I would do at least one practice dance for each decade to a different piece of decade specific music.

Unfortunately I didn't do very well with my location choice today as there is quite a bit of footwork in a Charleston and you can't see mine.  Will do better next time :)

Choreography 365: Day 97 - Big Project Announcement

So here we go, if I make it public it's official.  I don't really know why I've been putting this off, possibly because I'm not completely sure I can do the vision in my head justice.

The idea is to take PV Nova's Evolution remix of Daft Punks Get Lucky and dance and dress in a style influenced by the decade in question. (See video below if this doesn't make sense).

So today I have listened to the track quite a few times and marked out the duration of each section together with possible dance style for each decade.

Now I have to teach myself any styles I'm not familiar with and brush up of those I haven't done for a while.  And then choreograph each section to run smoothly into the next.

I plan to take each section separately, work on that decade and then put them altogether, so I am hoping it will take about a month working on it every few days.

This is going to be a challenge but I'm up for it. :)

Choreography 365: Day 96 - Feet in the Fire

Inspired by the trepidation of walking on hot coals. A little metaphor for the way I'm feeling.

This is mainly due to the decision to start working on that big project.  Excited but cautious. More to be revealed tomorrow :)

Music = Dark Smoke Prayer by Carolyn Hillyer.

Choreography 365: Day 94 - Response to Fan Art

I spent another day helping out at The House of Moon today but we did find time to escape the house.

This is a response to some fan art by Luna which she drew for me and my fellow 365'ers Taz and Nat.

You may recall that I did one a few weeks ago (Day 75) but I really wanted to do something in a better location.

Choreography 365: Day 93 - Intro to Home is where the Chaos is

Today I take you on a mini tour of 'The House of Moon' post epic move round.

The potential of the living area has been maximized and simplified prior to Luna beginning her second 365 project: 'Home is where the Chaos is'.

This will start towards the end of this month, but you can see her first one, A Boat a Day, here.

Music = Junktion by Beats Antique.

Also check out our fellow 365'er Nat creating 'a door a day'.

Choreography 365: Day 92 - Reverse Groundation

During my first day at my new job today I remembered that I was going to see how yesterdays video looked in reverse.

SO here it is, works quite well I think.  :)

Music = Glory to the Kings by Groundation

Choreography 365: Day 91 - To Groundation

A really like this play with leg development and retraction

(developpe and enveloppe and to those in the know)

And it's always nice to listen and dance to some new music

(new to me)
